Long a meeting point (and battleground) for myriad civilizations, the country brims over with remnants of a glorious, chaotic past. Fascinating pre-historical, Classical, Moorish and Christian sites rub shoulders with the marvelous legacies of 20th-century artists.
Once away from the holiday costas, you could only be in Spain. In the cities, narrow twisting old streets suddenly open out to views of daring modern architecture, while spit-and-sawdust bars serving wine from the barrel rub shoulders with blaring, glaring discos.
Travel is easy, accommodation plentiful, the climate benign, the people relaxed, the beaches long and sandy, the food and drink easy to come by and full of regional variety. More than 50 million foreigners a year visit Spain, yet you can also travel for days and hear nothing but Spanish. |

Like most of the Mediterranean, the Spain yacht chartering season generally runs from April to the end of October. The summer season in July and August is the hottest and tends to have lighter winds. This is also the high season as far as yacht charter goes. Other good times to charter your yacht is generally on either of the shoulder seasons (April-May and September-October), each side of the main summer season, as the temperatures are still comfortable, and the onshore tourists have yet to arrive in their largest numbers. |

The northern Catalonian city of Barcelona, Spain’s second largest, is the launching base for most of Spain’s yacht charters. Barcelona is a melting pot of gothic and medieval architecture and the culture and nightlife in Barcelona, is as good as anywhere.
Favorite yacht charter locations from mainland Spain include Costa Brava, Costa Blanca, Costa del Sol and of course the Balearic Islands. The recent Spanish focus on modern marinas, has allowed for some fantastic new marina developments along the coast, where all sailors and yacht charters, are welcome.
With Valencia’s appointment as host to the next America’s Cup look out for further yacht chartering infrastructure development on Spain’s Mediterranean Eastern Coast.

From Barcelona, you can easily sail down the coast, to Costa Blanca, or across to an isolated bays of the Balearic Islands. Enjoy the natural beauty of the Spanish coastline and the unique blend of vibrant Spanish culture.
Why have the Baleares or Balearics become one of the Mediterranean’s most popular yacht charter destinations? The constant sunshine, azure waters and rugged landscape has made The Balearic Islands, Europe’s favorite cruising playground. The Balearic Islands, off Spain are steeped in a raw combination of old and new. The history is prevalent in gothic castles, museums and ancient cobbled streets, whilst the famous Spanish nightlife, lives on in tapas bars, nightclubs and port side cafes. A yacht charter holiday in The Balearics will allow you to experience more than the average mainland holidaymaker, could even imagine.
From golden beaches, bays, rocky peaks and lively harbors, Mallorca, Ibiza and the Balearic Islands have everything on offer for the perfect yacht charter holiday. The landscapes of the islands are extreme, and unmistakably Spanish. Along the towering coastlines, you'll find endless coves and beaches, perfect for anchoring your yacht.
