The sixty-three foot (19m) ketch Stressbreaker was originally constructed as a sailing vessel for scientific
research in the waters of Patagonia, Tierra Del Fuego and Southern
Chile . She had a second career as one of the most successful
sail/dive yachts in the Red Sea .
In 1996 Stressbreaker was moved to South East Asia and is now
well established as a expeditionary charter yacht in this area.
John and Gill Chamberlain, her owners, are both skipper and
divemaster and they both love to seek little explored areas,
it was an obvious choice to operate in the Mergui Archipelago.
A Thai Cook completes the team.
Cuisine aboard is a mouth-watering combination of Thai and European
dishes. The price is "All-inclusive", with complimentary
spirits, soft drinks and cold beers available at all times.
All activities are also included: Masks, snorkels and fins are
supplied for snorkeling. Nine 12 liters tanks are supplied for
diving, refilled from the yacht's high capacity Bauer K4 compressor,
together with weights and belts. In addition, 2 sets of scuba
gear are available for guests wishing to have a try-dive. 3
persons-Ocean kayaks are also available to explore the islands.
The teak clad saloon is air-conditioned and has a dedicated
charging station for strobes and torches. 220 V AC power is
available all day, & the generator is silenced. Three ton
water capacity and a desalinator make water shortage unlikely.
The maximum of 8 guests are accommodated in four private cabins:
two doubles and two twins. Cabins are light and airy with opening
portholes and hatches. Each cabin has it's own fan and reading
light. The two toilet/showers are cleaned twice daily.
